Late afternoon at the sandbar. The boat is anchored, the music is low, and two WaveRunners come idling back after an hour of carving wakes across the bay. Without a dock, someone stands waist deep holding a bow line while the hulls knock the swim platform. With a jet ski floating dock, the riders nose into a padded U, clip on and step straight onto a dry deck, still grinning. The skis stay put, the gelcoat stays clean, and nobody has to babysit a rope while the burgers cook.

In short: a jet ski dock is either an inflatable U, L or T shape that holds the craft beside or inside the deck, or a rigid drive-on port that lifts the hull out of the water on rollers. Inflatables cost about $180 to $670 on Amazon and pack into a bag; rigid drive-on ports cost about $1,700 to $2,700 and stay at your shoreline. Many inflatable PWC docks publish no weight rating at all, so match your ski’s width and weight to what the maker states, and ask in writing when it’s missing.
Jet ski floating dock types and sizes, as makers state them
Jet ski dock, waverunner dock, PWC floating dock: they are the same products. WaveRunner is Yamaha’s name for its personal watercraft, and PWC is the general term. What changes is the shape and whether the dock is inflatable or rigid.

Single, dual and multi-PWC layouts
Single: one bay. A U wraps the bow and both sides, an L guards one side, a T gives a walkway with a ski on each side. Dual: two bays side by side, mostly built to order for yachts: NautiBuoy Marine makes a double-bay drive-in dock with 40 L ballast bags that fill on launch (about 160 kg), and a charter-industry article describes a FreeStyle standard dock of 5.4 x 3 m for two skis. Multi: FunAir says its Toy Island holds up to 4 jet skis or dinghies, or 2 Seabobs with guests; SeaRaft offers docks for one to six jet skis. Those yacht docks are quote items: see yacht docks and request more information. Rigid ports from Wave Armor, Jet Dock and Candock link to dock sections to build larger layouts; see modular docks.
How jet ski docks are built
Inflatable PWC docks are drop-stitch panels: two layers of fabric tied by thousands of threads, coated airtight (usually PVC, sometimes TPU) and pumped hard. Consumer models on Amazon are 6 in thick with an EVA foam deck pad, stainless D-rings and handles; ACWYENN lists 8 D-rings on top and 4 underneath. Yacht docks go thicker: Jobe’s Infinity range is 20 cm with an EVA deck and links to other modules with D-rings and Velcro straps. Henshaw builds its superyacht dock on a Hypalon tube base with a double-wall drop-stitch top of about 100 mm, inflated from a ship’s airline or a 12/24 V pump. Ask about seams: welded seams are what yacht makers such as FreeStyle advertise. Our explainer is drop-stitch docks explained.
Rigid drive-on docks (not inflatable). Wave Armor’s Sport is a rotomolded, UV-protected polyethylene shell 100% filled with marine-grade EPS foam. Candock’s JetRoll is foam-filled rotomolded MDPE with 12 wheels and a bow stop. EZ Dock’s EZ Port 2i has wheels that adjust to the hull, and Jet Dock’s Universal PWC Dock is HDPE. Stores often list these as “floating jet ski docks”, but none of them inflate. Our side-by-side is drive-on vs inflatable jet ski docks.
What the ratings mean, and sizing a waverunner dock to your ski
Here is the uncomfortable truth about inflatable jet ski docks: most consumer listings give no weight rating for the craft. LOSKIA says its dock “safely supports multiple adults”, which is a people statement, not a jet ski rating. Paradise Pad calls its U dock “great for temporary docking”, and its T dock listing says it is “designed more as a temporary dock and not a long term dock”. Rigid ports are clearer: Wave Armor rates the Sport at 700 lb and says it is designed for smaller, lightweight PWCs and stand-up models; Candock rates the JetRoll at 2,000 lb including watercraft and people.
So start with your craft. Sea-Doo lists the Spark Trixx at 46 in wide and 443 to 473 lb dry, before fuel, riders and gear; three-seat touring skis are bigger and heavier. Compare that width with the dock’s opening (Paradise Pad’s is 4 ft wide), and the weight with the maker’s figure. A flat swim dock is rated for people, not for a hull driven onto it, so don’t use one as a PWC dock. More in inflatable dock capacity explained.
Drive-on jet ski dock or inflatable: advantages and trade-offs
| Inflatable jet ski dock | Rigid drive-on dock (port) | |
|---|---|---|
| Where the ski sits | In the water, held by the U or along the side | Up on rollers or wheels, hull mostly out of the water |
| Rating | Often not published on consumer listings | Published: 700 lb (Wave Armor Sport) to 2,000 lb (Candock JetRoll) |
| Weight and storage | About 39 to 66 lb, packs into a bag | About 180 to 350 lb; Wave Armor needs a forklift for delivery |
| Best place | Behind a boat at anchor, at a rented cabin, on trips | At your own shoreline or dock all season |
| Price seen | About $179 to $665 on Amazon | $1,725 to $2,699 (Wave Armor), $2,399 (JetRoll) |
If the ski lives at home all summer, a drive-on port keeps the hull dry and the rating is in writing. If the ski travels with the boat or you switch lakes, an inflatable is the one that fits in a locker. A third path is a lift with legs on the lake bed, which we compare in inflatable docks vs boat lifts.
Anchoring and setup basics
- Anchor the dock, not just the ski. A dock with a ski in it catches more wind than an empty one. Use every anchor point; set anchors on their own lines rather than relying on the ski’s line. Our anchoring guide covers weights and scope.
- Behind a boat, follow the dock maker on tying off. RAVE, for its swim dock, warns that tethering to boats or hard objects raises injury risk and to keep docks away from engines and propellers; yacht docks such as NautiBuoy’s use ballast bags to steady the deck.
- At the shoreline, rigid ports connect to dock sections with kits sold separately (Wave Armor) and anchor with pipes, deadweights, piling brackets or stiff arms (EZ Dock).
- Inflate to the maker’s pressure (ACWYENN lists 5 to 10 psi) and check it in the afternoon heat.
- Dock slowly, engine off before anyone steps on. Clip the ski in with fenders or bumpers between hull and dock.
No consumer dock maker we checked publishes a wind or wave limit; bring the ski aboard or to shore when weather builds.
The fun part
A jet ski dock changes how a day on the water flows. Instead of one rider at a time while everyone else waits on the boat, the dock becomes the pit lane: one ski goes out with two friends, the other sits ready in its slot, and people swap at the deck with dry feet and a cold drink in reach. Kids sit on the edge and watch the next run. At sunset, both skis are parked side by side and the dock turns into a place to sit with your legs in the water. That is the moment owners describe when they explain why they bought one.
Jet ski dock safety
- Life jackets. The Coast Guard recommends, and many states require, a USCG-approved life jacket for PWC riders, marked for PWC use. Virginia, for example, requires every operator and rider to wear one, the engine cut-off lanyard attached, and no riding between sunset and sunrise. Check your state. Our Coast Guard requirements page covers the basics for the boats you tie up.
- Children. Federal law requires children under 13 to wear a USCG-approved life jacket while a vessel is underway, and adult sizes may not fit kids.
- Engines and exhaust. The Coast Guard warns never to sit or hang on the back deck or swim platform while engines are running, and the CDC advises staying at least 20 ft from a running engine or generator because of carbon monoxide.
- Powered docks and marinas. If you park the ski at a dock with shore power, read electric shock drowning. The Tennessee State Fire Marshal’s Office advises never swimming within 100 yards of a dock using electrical power or a freshwater marina.
- Depth. Know the depth around the dock before anyone jumps in, and keep swimmers away from the intake and the jet.
All our safety pages are in dock safety.

Jet ski dock gear: fenders, anchors, lines, pumps, repair
- Fenders. A PWC fender clipped to the rub rail protects the hull at the dock and against the boat.
- Anchors. A sand-bag anchor holds a ski on the beach; the dock needs its own anchors sized to its maker’s advice.
- Lines. Nylon dock lines stretch and absorb shock loads; keep them short so the ski can’t swing under the deck edge.
- Pump and repair. An electric pump with a preset pressure, plus a PVC patch kit with HH-66 cement. See inflatable dock repair and dock ladders and accessories.

What a jet ski dock costs
In October 2026 we saw inflatable PWC docks on Amazon from $179 (ACWYENN L) to $665 (GIRISHIP 15 x 8 ft), with the LOSKIA U at $339 and the Paradise Pad U at $549.99. Wave Armor’s own price list ran from $1,725 for the Sport to $2,699 for the Pro Maxx Wide Body, with the Pro Inline at $5,199. Candock’s JetRoll was $2,399 at Boat Lift and Dock. EZ Dock and Jet Dock quote through dealers or by phone, and a Yachtbeach single jet ski dock was about $2,665 at a dealer. Custom yacht docks from NautiBuoy, Henshaw, FunAir and SeaRaft are priced by quote. Watch what the price leaves out: Wave Armor sells connection kits separately, and one dealer we checked excludes installation, anchoring and shipping. More in what a floating dock costs.
Care
For inflatables, the care routine is the same as any drop-stitch dock: wash with mild soap (no solvents or power washer), dry both sides, roll loosely and store cool and shaded, as RAVE’s dock manual describes, and apply a UV protectant to exposed surfaces as Aquaglide recommends. Check D-rings and handles each time you set up. Rigid ports need less: EZ Dock sells fresh and saltwater hardware, and rigid docks should come out where ice shifts, per Connect-A-Dock. Jet ski dock questions
Can I park a jet ski on a regular inflatable dock?
Not unless the maker says so. Flat swim docks are rated for people, not for a hull driven onto them. Use a dock sold for PWCs.
What is the difference between a jet ski dock and a waverunner dock?
None. WaveRunner is Yamaha’s name for its personal watercraft; jet ski, waverunner and PWC docks are the same products. Check the fit for your model’s width and weight.
What is a drive-on jet ski dock?
A rigid port, usually polyethylene, with rollers or wheels and a ramp. You drive the ski up onto it and the hull sits mostly out of the water. Wave Armor, EZ Dock, Jet Dock and Candock make them. They are not inflatable.
Can I leave a jet ski on an inflatable dock overnight?
Some sellers describe their inflatable docks as temporary. For a ski kept out all season, a drive-on port or a lift keeps the hull out of the water. Ask the seller in writing.
How much weight does a jet ski dock hold?
Only the maker can say. Wave Armor rates its Sport port at 700 lb for lightweight PWCs and Candock its JetRoll at 2,000 lb including craft and people. Many inflatable listings give no figure at all.
Will a jet ski dock work for two skis?
Get a dock made for two: a T with a ski on each side, two linked drive-on ports, or a custom twin dock for a yacht such as NautiBuoy’s double-bay dock or Henshaw’s twin.
How much does a jet ski floating dock cost?
About $179 to $665 for inflatables on Amazon, and $1,725 to $2,699 for Wave Armor’s drive-on ports in October 2026. Yacht docks run from about $2,665 at a dealer to quote-only custom builds.
